Sanctuary Weekend
September 15 and 16

On the weekend of September 15 and 16, the Saint John of God Community will celebrate special liturgies honoring our community's continuing commitment, begun in 1986, to the work of Sanctuary supporting those fleeing violence in their countries. Unfortunately, they too often find a hostile reception in our country.

Our celebration this year is dedicated in a special way to Blessed Oscar Romero whose canonization as a Saint will take place on October 14 in Rome.

Adriana Guzman of Faith In Action will speak to us during each of the weekend liturgies.

Please wear a Romero or other red shirt

to Mass on Sanctuary Weekend.

There will be a special collection supporting our community's Sanctuary work.

If you will not be at SJoG that weekend, donation envelopes will be available in the church during September. Checks should be made out to St. John of God, with "C.A.R. fund/Sanctuary" in the memo line.

Donations can also be made online at sjog.net/support.html.
